Meet Sniffles

Sniffles, photographed by Julianne Gentile.

Sniffles was surrendered to Ferrets Unlimited by a local petstore because he was sickly when he was delivered. Jean, who runs the ferret shelter, has been nursing him back to health and now he is a healthy, happy, chubby, baby boy. He is also the latest addition to our business. It's been a long time since we have had a baby in the house, but it sure is a lot nicer getting a baby from the shelter. Sniffles is already housebroken, he already recognizes good food, he loves being handled and cuddled. He is also a very good housekeeper.

If any of you have experienced getting a pet store baby, you know what a pain it can be. Pet store babies are adorable, but they take time to litter train, they often have health issues, and they might not be accustomed to handling and grooming. This is something to think about the next time you are considering getting a new pet.

Most ferret shelters are very full right now, and most have plenty of babies available for adoption!
