Naughty Burt

Naughty Burt, photographed by Julianne Gentile.

I found Burt climbing around in the hanging shoe organizer in my closet. This is about 4 ferret off the ground.

Please help the ferrets. Our local ferret shelter, Ferrets Unlimited in Cleveland, Ohio is in a crisis situation. There must be about 100 ferrets in the shelter at this time and they cannot take in any more ferrets. This is the only shelter for Northern Ohio, so I just don't know what will happen the next time a local animal control department picks up ferrets.

If you are local to the Greater Cleveland area, please consider volunteering a few hours of your time to help at the shelter or drop off food or supplies.

If you are super busy or not local to Ohio, you can still help by spreading the word, or sending a donation to the shelter or their veterinarian.

Please help spread the word. Ferrets Unlimited has a website at http://www.ferretsunlimited.org

Catch of the Day

I love this photo so much that I had to share it. Shawn W. Kennedy a photographer on flickr, captured this photo of a wild mink that visits him while fishing. The only mink I have ever seen were bred for their fur, so I especially love seeing one of these gorgeous animals in the wild.

This photo is the featured photo from our ferret photography group on flickr. Thank you, Shawn, for posting this! You can see more of his photos by clicking on the photo above.
