Adoption Application

Many states and towns require permits to keep ferrets. Please find out if your city and state allow ferrets, and what permits, if any, are necessary. These can usually be found at The Department of Parks and wildlife.

Applications are accepted and reviewed based on the information given. Any information given that is not true is grounds for rejection. Any part of the application that is not filled in will result in delay of processing your application.

If you're under the age of 18, your parents must be involved and must sign the adoption contract if you are approved. If you live with other people (including parents), all people in the residence must be aware of and agree to the adoption.

Please note: It is the responsibility of adopters to provide proper husbandry and care for any animal they adopt. Ferrets Unlimited is not responsible for any injury to humans, other pets, or any vet bills incurred.

All prospective adopters must fill out the adoption form completely. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Please specify which ferrets you wish to adopt.

Potential adopters under 18 must have a parent / guardian fill out an application form as well. For legal reasons, the parent / guardian must be the primary adopter in these cases and be willing to take on the full care of the animal if needed.

Please note: It is the responsibility of adopters to provide proper husbandry and care for any animal they adopt. Ferrets Unlimited Ferret Shelter is not responsible for any injury to humans, other pets, nor any vet bills incurred.

We do NOT ship ferrets! We adopt to people in the Northern Ohio area that can personally visit our shelter. People who live in neighboring states, within driving distance, may be considered if you provide a valid veterinary reference (we will check) and include personal references in the comments area of the application. Valid phone numbers for references are required.
